Doctoral Mentorship
This doctoral mentorship is designed for doctoral learners and academic practitioners who need clarity, structure, and strategic guidance as they navigate complex research decisions and program milestones.
The mentorship focuses on scholarly thinking, decision-making, and process development rather than content editing or faculty substitution. Support is intentionally structured to help learners interpret feedback, prioritize next steps, and build the habits required for sustained progress and completion.
This mentorship is most valuable for learners in later stages of their doctoral programs, where ambiguity increases, and independent judgment becomes essential.
Purpose of the Mentorship
This mentorship provides structured, goal-driven support for doctoral learners who require strategic guidance rather than content production. The purpose is to support clarity, scholarly discipline, and sustained momentum through complex doctoral milestones.
Mentorship sessions focus on helping learners:
interpret and respond to faculty or committee feedback,
clarify research and methodological decisions,
structure writing and revision workflows,
manage decision fatigue and maintain forward progress.
The mentorship is not a substitute for faculty supervision, committee guidance, or institutional evaluation. Its role is to support learners in developing the independent thinking and judgment required for doctoral completion.
Scope of Support
Mentorship support may include guidance related to:
navigating doctoral program milestones and timelines,
interpreting and responding to faculty or committee feedback,
structuring writing, revision, and research workflows,
clarifying research direction and decision points,
managing confidence, decision fatigue, and scholarly momentum.
The mentorship emphasizes process, strategy, and independent scholarly thinking rather than the production or revision of academic content.
Out of Scope
To maintain appropriate academic and professional boundaries, the mentorship does not include:
line-by-line editing or rewriting of documents,
ghostwriting or co-authoring academic work,
APA formatting or reference correction,
advocacy with faculty, committees, or institutions,
crisis or last-minute emergency support,
unlimited on-demand availability outside scheduled sessions.
Faculty and committees remain the sole academic authorities for evaluation, approval, and academic judgment.
This structure supports continuity and momentum while maintaining appropriate academic and professional boundaries.
